I’m sure you can tell by the topic of my posts lately that I’m editing. Or I have been for a long time and I’m not sure when a writer should stop. I think my ms is great, but then I receive advice or I read something that makes me think I can write a scene or chapter better. So, I go back in and mess around with the manuscript.
Yesterday, I read a quote by Jessica Morrell. She said, “adjectives tell and verbs show”. I really love how it elaborates the whole “tell don’t show” advice that seems to be given out in pharmaceutical sized doses. I think I’ve nixed these babies, but now of course I’m tempted to go in and
double triple quadruple check for these errors.
