I love reading advice from published authors about their writing process and this morning I found a wonderful site to feed my addiction. BIOGRAPHILE provides a daily article titled Write Start: Practical Advice from Savvy Authors. Every day an author writes about some form of the writing process. I started with Lisa Gardner’s article first because I’ve read every book she’s ever written and I still can’t get enough of her writing. If you’re not a fan of her, and you should be, there are other authors dispensing their wisdom. After Lisa’s article, (yes I’m on a first name basis with her), I started at the top and am currently reading the article by Charles Todd. I found some of the articles entertaining and some of them helpful. No matter how I relate to them, I hope this series continues for years to come.

This is actually NOT a comment on the post, but I simply can not figure out how to otherwise contact you.
Some time ago (2011) you posted that you were unable to find a thriller crit group. I am in that position and wondered if you have been successful or are still looking. I have a “completed” 95,000 word thriller undergoing its 231st round of revisions and am still looking for an appropriate group/person. External critique would certainly be helpful for me!

Doug
Hi Doug,
I wish I had better news. It seems that while there are a lot of thriller writers, there isn’t a lot of places to find critique groups or partners. The Guppies group of Sisters in Crime has one, but it isn’t very active. I’ve participated in contests and have met some great writers, but no one to join a group. Currently, I critique with a Christian writer and a YA Contemporary writer. Strangely enough, the odd combination seems to work for me. I wish had better news and I wish you the best of luck.
